Application server vendor BEA will ship its WebLogic platform version 7.0 at the end of this month.

BEA claims its software is the first package on the market to unify and extend all aspects of enterprise application development and integration, providing a platform on which to deploy web services.

WebLogic 7.0 will provide a single architecture for the development and integration of enterprise software and comprises the company's WebLogic Integration, WebLogic Portal, WebLogic Server and WebLogic Workshop technologies.

The software aims to reduce the cost of linking applications and systems with enterprise applications, including supply chain, CRM and ERP.

Earlier this week, BEA struck a deal with HP to sell its app server technology to the PC giant's customers.
