Virgin Trains puts £5m behind the bar

Now the McEwans will never run out...

Virgin Trains is investing £5m on point of sale equipment and software from Torex Retail for 140 new trains. Virgin will begin the rollout later this year.

The point of sale equipment will be linked to Virgin's logistics supply chain so the rail company can better manage its on-board stock in its buffet cars.

Nick Hebborn, director of service logistics and business at Virgin Trains, said this investment was necessary to "improve our service to our customers".
