
Online brand protection lives on...

Internet domain registrar Verisign is to bolster revenues with a new watchdog service, aimed at safeguarding online trademarks.
The Digital Brand Management service has unveiled partnerships with several digital surveillance companies, allowing Verisign to monitor the internet for misuse of registered domain names.
A second service, identity management, will help companies improve their URL marketing campaigns.
The company also announced it had acquired California-based registry 1GlobalPlace, which helps businesses manage and register domain names overseas.
