Redbus ploughs on with datacentre opening

Redbus will next week open the doors to its London III facility despite the depressed state of the web hosting market.

The new building has capabilities that are four times more powerful than the facilities already operational.

Despite a huge dip in demand for the services it provides and the fact that its London II facility is still only half full, the company's chairman Cliff Stanford has total confidence in the future of the new building. He said: "People have to start believing in us - we do. We're not going to go bust."

Stanford also reacted to speculation that his company's collapsed merger with rival TeleCity may be back on, saying "we're open to talks with anybody at any time".

The company has been linked with a number of targets in the past, though Stanford said "an acquisition in the near future is unlikely".
