Search engine specialist Inktomi has posted flat revenues and a reduced loss, but has also cut its staff by an estimated 20 per cent.
The company expects fourth quarter results to show revenues of between $38m and $39m, in line with analysts' expectations, but claimed it has reduced its losses by 14 cents to 15 cents per share, compared with estimates of 16 cents to 18 cents per share put out by Wall Street pundits.
A spokesman confirmed that 150 positions across the company will be made redundant.
These job losses follow 250 jobs cut in April.
The latest round of lay-offs will leave the company with 650 employees.
