ASP vote of confidence for UK and Ireland

European companies are most likely to choose the UK and Ireland to source their ASP needs, and up to one third of companies plan to use some sort of ASP facility over the next two years.

According to a report from Datamonitor, sixty one per cent of respondents said that they would choose the UK and Ireland for their ASP needs, citing geographical location and national IT policies as reasons.

Nordic countries fared poorly in the survey, with Norway getting just 26 per cent of first preference votes, Denmark 27 per cent and Sweden 34 per cent.

However, the survey shows that there is still confusion in the ASP market and ten per cent of respondents said they would never employ the services of an ASP.

Datamonitor surveyed one hundred and ninety five IT managers in seven European countries, working in different sectors including finance, trade, manufacturing, agriculture, transport and communications.
