French company Alcatel is to sell its OneTouch mobile phones and GSM accessories over the Internet.

The company will use its French start-up e-subsidiary, Walkryies.com, to create the portal.

The service is available to all consumers in five languages - French, English, Italian, German and Spanish. Users can access the site either through the main Alcatel.com address or regional sites such as Alcatel.fr.

Prices will be displayed in the currency of 17 European countries but dollars will be used for all other price tags.

The telecoms equipment and cabling company will use delivery firm UPS, enabling customers to track orders either on the Web or with email using a reference number. Delivery is guaranteed within 48 hours for European destinations but 72 hours for all other countries.
