Network Appliance has won a contract to provide Ford Motor Company with an enterprise caching system for its 70,000 employees worldwide.

The system will help accelerate the amount of data available to staff on the company's intranet, as well as increasing access speed to the Internet. It will also provide content filtering and group access controls.

According to Network Appliance, its NetCache system will provide the motor giant with the flexibility to allow its network to grow as Internet technologies develop and change.
