The Fujitsu Group has announced its support for Multos - Mondex's smartcard operating system.
Along with other systems giants Amdahl and ICL, the company will join the Multos development forum, Maosco, which includes American Express, Hitachi and Gemplus.
Nick Habgood, Maosco chief executive, heralded the new arrivals as a sign of Mondex support from the advanced technology sector, and Japan in particular.
Multos is an independant consortium started by Mondex. It supports multiple applications on a single card and is freely available to developers. Its first commercial releases are due later this year.
