Data centre employs James Bond-style security
James Bond-style biometrics are being used to scare off cyber-thieves at one of the most secure data centres in Europe.

The Internet Data Centre (IDC) opens today in Slough, and has employed a range of technology from humble CCTV systems and infra-red motion detectors right through to high-tech retina scanners.

IDC claims its data centre is the most secure in Europe. It hosts thousands of servers in heat and humidity proof rooms and, according to the company, has 75 miles of power cabling and an electricity supply of 9,000 amps backed up with an array of batteries.
