Published: Thursday 04 May 2000
As the US woke up today, it too fell under the spell of the 'I Love You' virus.
According to US reports, one of the first victims was the Pentagon, which redistributed the virus through its automatic clippings service to other governmental agencies, including the CIA, the General Accounting Office, various military command centres and the FBI.
Ford too has been forced to shut down its email system which serves over 100,000 employees worldwide, according to a report on ZDNet's Interactive Week.
The Whitehouse was keen to announce that it so far had not been affected.
