Yes, banks & other large organisations DO lose data, but none as frequently or as repeatedly as the government - each time we are told,'lessons have been learned' - they never are. It is now time that the people at the top, senior civil servants & Ministers need to start losing their jobs (and their over-inflated pensions) when careless breaches do occur. A sharp lesson in accountability would produce much improved results. After all, a private employee who erred in this way would be dismissed instantly for gross misconduct - why not public employees & ministers too?
