It is against the law NOT to report a virus or trojan, as a crime has been comitted.
Yet banks would rather refund the money stolen and keep it quiet, so the public doesn't find out that their online banking is vunerable.
This happened to a collegue of mine last year. She had her savings cleared out by someone who used a trojan virus to implant a keylogger on her PC.
