Whilst I can understand the argument that it is best not to talk too much about what measures have been taken to defend against DDoS there is another way to look at this. OK Hackers like a challenge but most DDoS attacks are driven mostly by money not black hat kudos. If they know what they are up against they are more likely to opt for an easy life and divert attention to one of the thousands of vulnerable online buisnesses instead. It is bit like the dummy alarm box on the outside of the house. The burglar has a good idea it won't stop him but decides to go next door where they have left a window open and the key under the door mat rather than take the risk.
