I was affected by the recent credit card information loss. I am still waiting for my replacement credit card after 11 days.

Since there is no information about who has lost my details, I have decided to stop e-shopping at ALL of the online shops that I used to use. In fact my confidence in online shopping has taken a big knock and the secrecy is not helping. I am also wondering what other future difficulties there will be if my full name, address and telephone number are in the hands of criminals.

I tend to agree with the reader who was annoyed that the Credit Card companies respond rather slowly to this type of incident YET they can get a replacement card to you in a day if you lose one abroad. Hence I will get my replacement credit card and probably cancel it immediatly so that I can try to get with a different CC company that responds (hopefully) quicker.

I also mostly get fuel at Shell garages using a CC. I am now having to watch that CC account rather closely in case my local garage was one that had chip&pin skim kit. I guess I will have to go back to using cash instead of Chip and Pin.
