Since installing the latest security update to OS 10.4.5 I've had a lot of system hangs. After the dreaded rainbow pinwheel, everything on the left side of the Finder menu bar becomes unresponsive and the desktop icons disappear. The dock still appears to respond but clicking there opens nothing. <Option-Cmd-Esc> usually produces the dialog but it seems to be broken. Sometimes mail refuses to force quit. Sometimes the finder relaunches but is non-functional.

I can almost always make this happen by performing a <get info> on something in my .Mac public folder.
