Deep pockets - short arms!
Just GBP150k from just two of the nation's biggest High Street banks, only one of the world's largest most profitable PC manufacturers, one of the world's most popular online dot.com auction sites, the planet's largest software vendor and one online info provider - is that the best that the internet world can offer to protect its own customers from internet fraud and identity theft. While I'm glad they did contribute, what percentage of their combined annual post-tax profit is THAT?! 'Peanuts' comes to mind. And as for the rest of the internet world, well I guess we all know what greedy bast**ds they are! £150k from these companies is chicken feed from their PR budgets, not a serious online attack counter-threat measure. They - and all the other internet dot.coms, IT vendors and service providers - should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves. Not surprisingly then that more on-line shoppers are wary of the internet for such activities involving PayPal, eBay and on-line banking. They can't even stop scams and spams being mailed out in their own names!!!
