Sun were invited to join but after highlighting one of the best ways of addressing the issue was software diversity rather than monoculture for some reason the interest slipped away.

For almost nothing the Government could put up a listing of open source applications such as Mozilla ( as recomended by NISCC then suppressed ) rather than taking money from the companies who either are the 'root cause' or have a vested interest in selling stuff to fix the issue.
