The challenge in deploying two-factor authentication for consumers is to do so cost effectively. Scott Charney is quoted: "A lot of solutions for two-factor authentication are for enterprise spaces. If you get two-factor authentication to the consumer level, you reduce the phishing threat."

What is required is a token system that is easy to deploy to consumers through a consumer device. At Diversinet we believe the mobile phone is a logical choice as a “mobisecure” authentication token. The merger of a two-factor authentication service with mobile devices will enable online communities like e-Bay to provide an increased level of trust and security to their constituents.
