Oasis seeks common ground on web services security

Web services standards body Oasis is setting up a committee to oversee development of common security protocols.

The committee will promote the use of consistent security standards across the many different XML formats in use.

Ultimately, Oasis is pushing for the take up of just one XML format.

The committee meets for the first time on 13 June.
