Badtrans has finally been toppled from its number one spot in the virus charts by the MyParty worm.

Figures for February from anti-virus software company Sophos show MyParty was able to use its inviting subject header to dupe email readers into infection.

MyParty has now edged ahead of Badtrans by just over three per cent. Sircam, Magistr and MNimda are all still in the top 10.

Sophos also discovered 739 new viruses in the month.
