
Fingers and faces come together...

Two US biometrics companies, Identix and Visionics, are to merge.
Facial scanner maker Visionics and Identix, a fingerprint scanner company, have announced their strategic merger in an all-stock transaction worth $600m.
Robert McCashin, current chairman and CEO of Identix, will become the chairman of the new company and Dr Joseph J Atick, the current CEO of Visionics, will serve as CEO.
The name of the combined firm will be announced later on in the year. The new company aims to maintain its co-headquarters on the East and West Coasts.
