German electronics giant Siemens has developed a mouse that can read fingerprints.
The company's new ID Mouse incorporates sophisticated security technology to allow users to log on to PCs and use web-based environments and applications.
Siemens claims the mouse will replace passwords by identifying the user's fingerprint and comparing it with previously recorded unique fingerprint data.
It also comes with a developers' kit that lets the mouse be integrated with existing security measures.
