
4.5 million cards ready and waiting to be measured up for smart cards and chips...

Barclaycard has spent £5m on smart cards and chips to be fitted inside the company's 4.5 million credit cards.
The deal allows smart card company ID Data to supply Barclaycard with its UKIS chip technology. It's a renewed contract for both companies worth £5m and runs until June 2002.
TTi Card Technology - sister company of ID Data - will take care of the delivery and service side of the deal.
