The self-confessed author of the infamous Kournikova worm will stand trial in a Dutch court on 12 September after giving himself up to the Dutch police.
Jon de Wit, also known as 'OntheFly', is alleged to have created the fast spreading malicious bug that promised a picture of the Russian tennis ace, with a worm-generating tool he found on the web.
If found guilty of spreading information via a computer network with the intention to cause damage, the 20-year-old Dutchman faces either six months in prison, or a fine up to NG100,000 (£27,000).
