As the Love Bug virus continues its rampage across UK companies, some companies are finding the impact is affecting more than email services.
Ascot-based training firm Perceptron has been left picking up the pieces after the virus wiped out its entire image library. The company's jpegs were amended with the file extension .vbs - turning them into text files.
Dr John Heaford, CEO of Perceptron, said: "Luckily we back-up our images on a daily basis but this will take days to sort out. All of the images we use in presentations and training programs are unique to us - we've had them specially designed.
"If anyone in the media business hasn't backed up the files they could be in trouble," he added.
Another company, a small software and hardware distributor, which wanted to remain anonymous, contacted silicon.com claiming to have had several thousand pictures affected.
