Symantec swallows up Intel's anti-virus arm

Symantec has bought Intel's anti-virus business for an undisclosed fee and will integrate it with its own Norton brand by the end of the year.

Symantec claims it will retain support for existing Intel customers after the Norton anti-virus engine and Intel's Lan Desk Management Suite have been merged.
