And why can't (shouldn't) we remove a particular piece of software at a later date? Is this not subject to unbundling?

What a mess! And while they are at it is there any prospect of MS advising which of the hundreds of MBs of uninstall files can be safely removed as a result of the roll-ups? And not just for XP, what about servers as well?
