Windows 7 may not be as fast off the mark in start up as Vista after all.

Despite claims that the new OS will be faster to boot up, one software company has reported that in many cases Vista actually outdoes Windows 7 in the speed stakes.

Iolo Technlogies said in its tests a brand new machine running Windows 7 takes 94 seconds to become usable, compared to 66 seconds for a Vista machine.
