Opera Software has released version 5.0 of its browser for Macs.
The browser will run on versions 7.5 to 9.2 of the Mac operating system. A beta version is also available for download for users of the Mac OSX - Apple's latest OS.
Opera claims to be the third most popular PC browser in the world behind the flagging Netscape and the ubiquitous Microsoft Internet Explorer.
Opera claims version 5.0 is the fastest, most customisable and standards-compliant browser available for the Mac platform.
The latest version of the browser boasts a cookie manager, an advanced favourites feature, multiple download monitor and key-chain support.
