Hutchison 3G has confirmed revelations on silicon.com in July that it is actively exploring the possibility of delivering pornographic content to next generation mobile phones.
A spokesman said: "There is someone on the entertainment team who is looking at the issue."
He went on to say the role includes examining the legal issues surrounding the delivery of pornographic content by third parties over Hutchison's network.
The role is also understood to include investigating the commercial possibilities of Hutchison 3G working with other partners to provide pornographic services.
