The Digital Radio group, a consortium made up of GWR Group, The Wireless Group and Time Out, among others, has won the third digital licence for Greater London.
The regional multiplex licence awarded by the Radio Authority enables both audio and data services to be digitally broadcast to London's 8.5 million population. The Digital Radio group plans to broadcast a total of eleven stations, including Time Out live, Young Asian and Urban Choice.
Two national licences and 23 regional licences have already been awarded. Other members of the Digital Radio consortium include Asian Sound, Carphone Warehouse, ChannelFly, Clubmed, Matsushita Electric and SMG.
