Router giant launches new line to cement market top-spot...

Cisco Systems launched a raft of products yesterday for the ISP market which promise to save money for service providers and provide faster net access for their customers.
Among the products released by the California-based firm was an XML add-on for its Integrated Cisco Internetwork Operating System (IOS) interface.
Previously Cisco clients had to manage each of their product lines separately. This 'unified' development allows Cisco customers to manage network equipment from a central location.
Cisco will hope the IOS enhancement and four further additions to its family of internet routers will halt the likes of Juniper Networks in eroding its market dominance.
Last year Cisco saw its market share drop from 75 per cent to 65 per cent as Juniper attracted 35 per cent of the $2bn worldwide router market.
The networking products revealed at the SuperComm 2001 telecommunications trade show in Atlanta on Tuesday, should all be available to buy before the end of the month.
More details of the products can be found on the Cisco website http://newsroom.cisco.com/dlls/ts_060501.html
