TWA Cargo is to launch an online booking service through e-marketplace Webfreight.
The US air freight carrier is the first company to partner business-to-business site Webfreight - which is owned by ecommerce specialist just2clicks (J2C). The site allows users to check availability, destination, collection and handling, as well as check rates and book shipments online to 900 destinations.
According to Roy Parmenter, managing director of Webfreight, the deal will let TWA Cargo market its air services directly to shippers all over the world.
The company plans to sign up other carriers by the end of the year and expand its services beyond air freight. "We want to bring all modes of global transportation to the shipper within two years," Parmenter added.
The TWA Cargo site will go live on 1 May.
