UK construction firm, Sapcote & Sons has ditched its Unix-based network for a finance and administration system based on Microsoft Windows NT.
The firm has signed a £50,000 deal with Nottingham-based systems integrator, The Data Base, which covers hardware, software and training. The Data Base will install its NT-based Dema application, which includes modules specific to the construction industry.
In a statement, Sapcote chairman, Richard Sapcote said the migration to NT will offer more flexibility at a lower cost for his 115-strong company. Other motives for the move include the need to deal with the millennium bug and with regulatory changes in the construction industry, he said.
