symbian's os 9 shipped in nokia's as series 60 3rd edition will kill all these virii by introducing a complete binary break with the old OS and by forcing all apps requiring privileged operations to be signed by a symbian approved testing house. Whilst this doesn't cover old phones it does show there'll be a safer future for smart phones
