The ultimate solution to this threat lies in its source: The the tens of thousands of compromised PC's participating in these DOS networks. If the owners of these PC's were properly educated... or perhaps even located and contacted and given a little guidance... presto! No launch platform for these types of attacks. Sounds simple, but of course not simple - and - who pays?
