Oracle launches web services Marvel
But is it all at sea?

Oracle today unveiled details of an e-consultancy strategy that will offer online advisory and hosting services to customers designing web services applications.

Oracle staff involved in the Project Marvel service will only consult with customers via the internet in a bid to take the time and travel constraints out of such operations.

Under the project terms Oracle will design, build and host the web service applications for customers.

Two hundred US customers are already involved in Project Marvel and Oracle is testing its own cyber consultancy environment on Oracle Racing, Larry Ellison's entrant in next year's Americas Cup.

All software on board the yacht will be operated using the Project Marvel service.
