Comcast keeps records of every web page visited...

US cable giant Comcast has admitted to spying on its customers and keeping records of every web page they visit.

The company stores the IP address of every web page visited by its customers in a database managed by Inktomi.

The company also admitted it stores sensitive information such as credit card numbers and passwords.

According to US newswires, Comcast claimed it will not share or sell the information to third parties and claimed its actions were common practice. However, rival companies AOL and Earthlink said they do not store the same kinds of information and have no plans to do so.
