It takes about 5-10 minutes per disk for me, and it's a once-off excercise for each disk. You don't have to sit and watch it working either, I just put it in the background and get on with something else while it's at it.

>> especially if your laptop dies and you have to rebuild that collection

Why should that cause you to have to rebuild your CD collection ? Oh, you DON'T have a backup of your laptop - that's some admission to make !
