The iPod of Enterprise Software? The Ebay of enterprise applications and the Google of the enterprise software?
And the microsoft of the new era. The Oracle of the future.
Wait a minute, Salesforce.com is succesful, true, but to think they are rivals of MS, ORACLE and SAP has no basis.
Lets not forget that the average Salesforce.com customer has less than 19 seats, thats taking in consideration few big clients with 5000 seats, which should bring the actual average to less than 13 seats per customer.
Hype is good for business, but it also comes back at you when you cant even sustain an uptime of 95%.
The real threat to Salesforce.com is not comming from the big boys, rather from the smaller rivals such as netsuite, salesnet, salesboom and entellium.
