What "unnecessary functionality" ??!?
I use firefox all the time and don't find any of the features that i don't use preventing me from using the ones that do. As an IT guy i need to understand what is useable for users and what is not, put simply firefox is just as easy to use as IE.
Unused features in either browser is not a barrier to adoption and its silly to suggest otherwise.
