A fine company to pass judgement, when they have closed standards that no one else can access, that bombards you with ads telling you to buy premium rate versions

When they are big enough to release the format of their codec so that other players can access their media streams, then I may feel some sympathy to their position, as it is, they are just trying to create a worse monoploy that MS has, at least with MS, the WMA codec is available to everyone, and if you want to allow your player to support it then it's up to you. OK so there may be a licencing fee, but at least it's available - you don't see Real trying to make their streams available to any other players.
