But Oracle hits back claiming "profound misunderstanding" of open source

The European Commission has formally objected to Oracle's planned acquisition of Sun.
According to a Securities and Exchange Commission filing from Sun, the EC has filed a statement of objections, which says the combination of Sun's open source MySQL database product with Oracle's enterprise database products could have a negative affect on competition.
But Oracle has hit back at the EC's objections, claiming the European regulator has misunderstood the nature of open source, and said it will fight the objection.
