Salesforce.com's cloud platform Force.com is to open up to third-party channel resellers.

The software-as-a-service company's VAR (value-added reseller) programme, announced on Wednesday, is aimed at vendors who provide SMEs with hardware, software and infrastructure backup.

Salesforce claims SMEs are still wary of the cloud but are more likely to trust their local support technicians.
