Got a Second Life? Get $10,000

Linden prize raises the stakes...

The maker of Second Life has launched a contest for the best application or project developed within the virtual world.

Linden Lab will award $10,000 to the Second Life resident or team that comes up with an in-world application that is most able to help people to work, learn and communicate more effectively in the real world.

The Linden Prize will be awarded annually and applications to enter the prize are open until 15 January 2009 with the finalists and winner to be announced in April.

Linden Lab CEO, Mark Kingdon, said Second Life has got to the point where its impact stretches beyond the virtual world, which the Linden Prize will serve to showcase.
