Unilever's global rollout of SAP technology is on track with around three-quarters of the business now live on software from the German software giant.

In the summary of its second quarter results, Unilever confirmed the SAP implementation is due to be completed by the end of the year.

Unilever signed a global enterprise agreement with SAP back in December 2006 which allowed the company to have access to a vast range of SAP technology.

The SAP rollout is an integral part of the 'One Unilever' programme which is aimed at cutting millions from the company's IT costs by streamlining and simplifying its tech infrastructure.

When the deal was announced, Unilever CIO, Neil Cameron said it would accelerate the company's business transformation as well as drive "significant IT simplification".

One of the technologies being used is the NetWeaver SOA platform which is designed to help companies quickly deploy data for different business needs.
