Pizza delivery firm Domino's has appointed a new head of IT following former tech chief Ian Foxley's decision to set up his own Domino's outlet (he liked the food so much he bought a franchise...)

Marc Halpern is the new man at the helm, and will be responsible for supporting the company's corporate and store-level IT infrastructure, the latter covering a 252-strong network of pizza delivery shops.

Halpern has more than 12 years experience of designing and supporting complex IT systems and is a self-confessed pizza lover. He is therefore understandably happy with his new role.

Domino's launched an online delivery service in September 1999.
