Sportingbet gambles £1.8m on Aussie bookie

The going looks good for online turf accountants...

UK online bookmaker Sportingbet has paid £1.8m for the customer database of one of Australia's best known bookmakers, Michael Sullivan.

Sportingbet said the purchase will give increased presence in the Australian market, and will be integrated into its current Australian operation.

Sportingbet made the purchase with cash and shares. Last year Michael Sullivan generated profits of £450,000 on a turnover of £7.5m.
