The first national database of war memorials throughout the UK went live today - 12 years after the project began.
The UK National Inventory of War Memorials contains details of 45,000 memorials erected over the last 350 years.
These range from commemorative buildings and gardens to plaques and crosses in hospitals and schools.
A £156,000 cash injection from the National Heritage Memorial Fund helped bring the archive to completion
